The Opportunity
As the Head of People & Culture, you will report to the CFO and lead a small talented team, including HR Coordinator and the Office Manager. You will be responsible for shaping strategic and operational HR, and fostering a culture of engagement, diversity, and inclusion. This is a chance to make a tangible difference by aligning people strategies with business goals, ensuring compliance with New Zealand employment laws, and supporting a global team with a strong connection to international counterparts.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies that support organisational growth and align with the company's vision.
- Talent Acquisition & Development: Attract top talent, implement workforce planning, and deliver innovative training and development initiatives.
- Cultural Engagement: Build a culture that values engagement, collaboration, and inclusivity while enhancing employee satisfaction and retention.
- Operational Excellence: Streamline processes, monitor HR metrics, and oversee budgets and contracts to maximise efficiency.
- Compliance Expertise: Act as the trusted advisor on employment legislation, ensuring compliance and alignment across New Zealand and global teams.
- Reporting & Insights: Use data-driven analytics to inform decision-making and continuously improve organisational performance.
- Proven experience in a senior HR or operational leadership role, ideally within the tech industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to drive results and make data-informed decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across teams and regions.
- Experience in leading recruitment, employment relations, performance management, and organisational development initiatives.
- Strong operational oversight capabilities, including budget management and process optimisation.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation in other jurisdictions such as the USA, UK, South Africa, Australia and Canada would be beneficial.
